Paper in bloom

Growing_the_paper

Earlier today, I posted about Spring favors and shared a photo of the yellow Share and Blossom plantable favor. I was so excited this afternoon to review these quality control tests of the seed-embedded pots from that same favor! The quality control tests are part of our regular germination tests that we do on our plantable, seeded paper. These tender sprouts will grow into wildflowers like Bird's Eye, Clarkia, Coreopsis, Poppy, Catchfly and Snap Dragon.

Spring is in the air

Flowering_spring_favors_2

Thinking Spring? We love the Share and Blossom plantable favor for Spring wedding and baby showers, Mother's Day tea parties and Easter brunches. We're in the Spring frame of mind these days at Botanical PaperWorks (even though there was a minor snow storm last night!) and loving fresh Spring colors like yellow and green.

For readers in Toronto, you can see Botanical PaperWorks at the Eco Wedding and Lifestyle Show this weekend. We'll be in the Virtual Vendor area of the show.

Something interesting that we read yesterday: artist Kal Barteski posted several inspired pieces on  her blog, created on recycled and plantable papers. See the post for art created on Botanical PaperWorks' plantable seed paper and on repurposed Starbucks coffee sleeves. The woman with the hat is even based loosely on a photo of me from my post two weeks ago. Very cool!

I'd like to send out some thank you! Thank you to Becca from the blog Benton Park Photography for recommending Botanical PaperWorks' Designer Series of plantable stationery! Check out the very cool blog of Meg Morley called Oh, Pickles! for a post about us as well as a great read on printing, paper and more. And also see Blog for the Bride for a post on our plantable invitations. Thanks for your support, and a happy weekend to you!

Customer Focus: Flowering Corporate Give-Aways

Botanical PaperWorks produced this special corporate give-away for premium home builder Pulte Homes. Printed on 100% post-consumer waste and embedded with wildflower seeds, this Garden Greetingsā„¢ plantable paper card is used as a special marketing piece for the company. When the lucky recipient plants the card, it recycles into wildflowers leaving no waste. What a great way to send a message and make a memorable impression!

Planting instructions are printed on the back along with a special message regarding the charitable donation Pulte Homes is making. The inside is also printed in full color.

Good Monday morning!

A good Monday morning to you! I'd like to thank TheStreet.com for mentioning Botanical PaperWorks' Plantable Valentine's Day cards recently. Read the article Valentine's Flowers with a Whiff of Originiality. Also, Benton Park Photography Co. raved about Botanical PaperWorks in last week's post Plantable Wedding Favors.

I leave you with this photo of Spring cards and journals. This beautiful new plantable journal design will be up later this week (and I'll tell you a secret - you can order it now if you call us and put your order in over the phone!).

Things I'm Loving

Rooibos_tea_3Wow, there's so much to love these day!

My drink: Pina Colada Rooibos tea from Cornelia Bean. It reminds me of last week's vacation in Mexico with the warming benefit of hot tea. Perfect for a cold Canadian winter!

My music: Tower of Song, the Music of Leonard Cohen - a fantastic mix of artists reworking Cohen's greatest songs like Bono singing Hallelujah and Trisha Yearwood with Coming Back to You. It's an older Plantablecard_mothersday_pink_talbum that I keep coming back to.

My game: I'm loving Scrabulous on Facebook. I love how I can have multiple games on-the-go with different friends across the country.

My card: The Plantable Mother's Day card designed by Kal Barteski. The delicious pink envelopes are now in so that when you order the pink version of the card, you'll get a premium pink envelope too! The orange and brown cards come with the premium cocoa brown envelope.

I'm back and thinking about holidays

Flatcard_easter_th Hello! I'm back from my holiday and feeling great. I had a simply wonderful time in Mexico, doing those things you do on a beach vacation - relaxing on a beach chair with a great book and a delicious mojito!

I'll be back in the office tomorrow (Wednesday) and in the meantime would like to turn your attention to several special holidays coming up. If you're planning for Easter,  Earth Day or Mother's Day, we'll be posting lots of products perfect for these occasions.

Here's a quick list of dates to help you stay organized:

Easter - Sunday, March 23
Earth Day - Tuesday, April 22
Mother's Day - Sunday, May 11

More Easter ideas will follow this week. And in closing, here's a picture of me doing my favorite beach-side activity....reading!
