New Product Announcement

I'm pleased to announce that the new plantable favor tags are now available in the Botanical PaperWorks shop. The tags are perfect for tying to a wedding favor like this eco-friendly, paraben-free scrub from Tiber River Naturals. The favor tags coordinate with our plantable, eco-friendly invitations.

We're working at lot with clients for our plantable birth announcements lately. It's got me thinking - there's a baby shower coming up that I'm a part of and these announcements would be perfect as the invitation.

Thanks to friend Melissa for taking this picture of a plantable menu card at a luncheon at the Winnipeg Convention Centre today. We love seeing our product in action!

Thankful Wednesday

Hey there beautiful Wednesday! The weather is lovely and spirits are up in our fair city. Botanical PaperWorks has received some wonderful press lately and I'd like to thank each of the editors for recommending us. Here are a few highlights:

On deck for tonight - more getting out there and using my bike. I tried to take a picture of last evening's adventures, but nearly fell off my bike trying to take a photo of the deer and geese as I peddled by. I decided to settle for mental pictures instead of actual pictures. But if I had been able to take a picture, it would have looked something like this:

Plantable confetti and other highlights

It was a whirlwind weekend with picnics, balloons and friends. Here are some photo highlights:

Saturday night, we enjoyed a 1976 bottle of port with friends Cheryl and Carl. I've never tasted anything like it. We declared it "spectacularly delicious" and "yummy" and enjoyed every last drop.

On Sunday, we released a bio-degradable balloon into the sky in honor of Ascension Day. The day was warm and calm, so we could follow the balloon for a long time as it rose into the sky and finally disappeared.

Today, we redoing the photography for our plantable pillow box project and working on a number of other top-secret product development projects, soon to be revealed.

We have two new plantable confetti products on the website which are perfect for tossing at an eco-friendly wedding this summer.

These new products join the very popular Four Petal Confetti and Five Petal Confetti products.

Contentment

This friendly fellow now lives in my backyard where the plants are slowly but surely poking their tops out of the mulch. It continues to be a cold Spring in these parts, but I'm staying confident that the warm weather will EVENTUALLY arrive.

We're all looking for ways to grow our businesses and here are some ideas that you can use from three jobs that we recently produced for (from top to bottom) Target, ING and Starbucks. It's a long weekend in Canada, so we're set to enjoy several days of gardening (if it doesn't snow), spring cleaning and lots of relaxing. Have a wonderful weekend!

Manitoba together

Great concert last night in support of the flood victims of Manitoba. Called Rise Again 2009, the concert was a jam-packed evening of Manitoban and Canadian entertainment. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet did an except from last weekend's Extreme Ballet performance, and Moses Mayes (including my brother Nathan on keyboards) played a brief but lively set. Lots of other performers, but we ducked out early - big day today, and I needed my sleep.

Fresh

Hello on this rainy afternoon in Winnipeg. I'd like to say HI to everyone that I met yesterday at the Digital Marketing conference. It was a pleasure to meet each of you and to learn more about your business and how you are using social media in your marketing.

There are cool new products in the works here at Botanical, and we're loving these new plantable favors in bright, fresh colors. I'd love to know your favorite color. I think mine right now is Sweet Love as shown in green, but I love the pinks and blues and yellows too.

Today, my fellow women entrepreneurs are on my mind. I'm waiting to hear about Adriana from Tiber River Naturals. Has she had her baby? If you know, please spill. I loved the Tumbling Hummingbirds sketch from Kal Barteski. See her post here. And I always enjoy the blogs of sisters Chrissie and Lisa, both so creative and full of life.

Tonight, we're off to the Flood Relief Concert at the MTS Centre. Looking forward to bands/artists Moses Mayes, Tom Jackson, and many more. Have a great evening!

The good things in life

How was your weekend? We celebrated Mother's Day with a bevvy of fun activities - dinner and Star Trek on Saturday night (I shot the above photo of the dinner table, right before we sat down), lunch with my Mom and Grandmas on Sunday with our favorite sandwiches from Rae & Jerry's. The weather was warm enough to have lunch out on the deck and my brothers, sisters-in-law, grandparents and parents lingered for a few hours of food and fun.

This week, we're putting the finishing touches on the 2010 Plantable Eco Calendar which will launch to our wholesale customers in a few weeks. We'll have photos to show you in about two months.
