Desert Living Feature

I'm looking at the April 2008 issue of Desert Living and love the feature that they did on Botanical PaperWorks' plantable cards. See page 124 in the "Spaceship Earth" section. Also check out page 42 for a great Mint Julep recipe (you can read the entire magazine online by clicking here). I'm growing a big old pot of mint right now, so this recipe is the perfect use for my crop.

Pics of Plantable Invitation in Women's World mag

It's a chilly morning here in Winnipeg with the promise of a nice-ish afternoon. That's all I need to get me going - the promise of nice weather! I'm itching to get out on my bike. Just a few more days and hopefully the puddles will evaporate and give me some dry pavement.

My thoughts continue to focus on gardening as the snow melts away to reveal bare patches of garden. This week's issue of Women's World featured Botanical PaperWorks' Blossom Plantable Invitation in a "green thumb" article with lots of other cool products for gardening. Check it out below for some great gift-giving ideas just in time for Mother's Day!

Let the fun begin!

111pacific

I'm marking today as the first day of a new era for Botanical PaperWorks. On Saturday, we took possession of our new facility, a spacious, airy, bright, large space in the Warehouse District of Winnipeg.

We have lovely neighbors; the Costume Museum of Canada is right next door, the Manitoba Printmakers Association's Martha Street Studio is down the street, and the Manitoba Theatre Centre and Concert Hall are a couple of blocks away. And most delightfully, we're on the block right off of Waterfront Drive, a treed grassy stretch on the river.

Today, we're meeting with trades and IT providers, to get set-up for papermaking and customer care. It will be interesting and exciting!

Our thanks to the blog Bride to Bee for mentioning Botanical PaperWorks' plantable eco invitations in the posting "A Wedding Gone Green". Have a great day!

Spring is in the air

Flowering_spring_favors_2

Thinking Spring? We love the Share and Blossom plantable favor for Spring wedding and baby showers, Mother's Day tea parties and Easter brunches. We're in the Spring frame of mind these days at Botanical PaperWorks (even though there was a minor snow storm last night!) and loving fresh Spring colors like yellow and green.

For readers in Toronto, you can see Botanical PaperWorks at the Eco Wedding and Lifestyle Show this weekend. We'll be in the Virtual Vendor area of the show.

Something interesting that we read yesterday: artist Kal Barteski posted several inspired pieces on  her blog, created on recycled and plantable papers. See the post for art created on Botanical PaperWorks' plantable seed paper and on repurposed Starbucks coffee sleeves. The woman with the hat is even based loosely on a photo of me from my post two weeks ago. Very cool!

I'd like to send out some thank you! Thank you to Becca from the blog Benton Park Photography for recommending Botanical PaperWorks' Designer Series of plantable stationery! Check out the very cool blog of Meg Morley called Oh, Pickles! for a post about us as well as a great read on printing, paper and more. And also see Blog for the Bride for a post on our plantable invitations. Thanks for your support, and a happy weekend to you!
