09_06_26-4

School is almost out and this yea as an end-of-year thank you, we're giving each of our daughters' teachers sets of personalized thank you cards from our sister company Absorb Creative. I chose these designs:

  • Bali in green, a favorite of mine since the collection launched
  • Hampton in brown/yellow
  • delicate Pixie in pink and grey
  • Orchid in striking blue and brown

Father's Day was last weekend and I'd like to thank these publications for recommending Botanical PaperWorks' plantable cards and gifts. Click on the image to read the full article.

Chives

Continuing on my photos-of-flowers kick, I'm CRAZY about chive flowers. This photo was taken at the front of my daughters' school, where today they planted the communal garden.

Thankful Wednesday

Hey there beautiful Wednesday! The weather is lovely and spirits are up in our fair city. Botanical PaperWorks has received some wonderful press lately and I'd like to thank each of the editors for recommending us. Here are a few highlights:

Slice.ca included us in an article called All I want (and don't want) for Mother's Day. They featured our Plantable Mother's Day Cards:

If you love those, check out our new Plantable Father's Day cards, with Father's Day coming up on Sunday, June 21.

On deck for tonight - more getting out there and using my bike. I tried to take a picture of last evening's adventures, but nearly fell off my bike trying to take a photo of the deer and geese as I peddled by. I decided to settle for mental pictures instead of actual pictures. But if I had been able to take a picture, it would have looked something like this:

What's up around here

09_05_05-1 A happy belated May day to you! Friday was Botanical PaperWorks' monthly Pizza Friday, and with a recent BBQ acquisition, we made it BBQ Friday. It was a bit of a learning curve with the veggie burgers and beef burgers for 25 people, but chief BBQer Liam and setter-upper Erin were troupers and along with moral support from Brendan, everyone got fed and full. The feedback that I've received for next month - remember the cheese and bring more chips. Got it.09_05_05-2Saturday, I visited with the new hybrid Honda Insight as part of its cross-Canada tour. The car (and its drivers) are on an environmental awareness tour from Victoria, BC to St. John's, Newfoundland with stops everywhere in between. Here I am with journalists Tim and Michael and the hybrid Honda Insight. Check out the blog here.

Saturday was also the day that Botanical PaperWorks was featured in the Winnipeg Free Press, page F10. Thanks very much to the WFP for that mention. Here it is just in case you missed it:

There is lots more on the go, but I'll save some for another post. Have a great day.
