Before I Die is a global public art project that invites people to reflect on their lives and share their personal aspirations in public space. Originally created on an abandoned house in Candy’s neighborhood in New Orleans after losing someone she loved, the project is about remembering what is important to you and creating public spaces that better reflect what matters to us as a community and as individuals.
A while back, a friend shared some images from the Winnipeg Before I Die project. It was located on the north-east corner of Maryland Street and Ellice Avenue, on the side of the Spence Neighbourhood Association building, facing Maryland.
Did you get a chance to see the wall? To read what people opened up about? Shared from the heart?
From the Winnipeg installation:
Thank you Larry for letting me know about the Before I Die project, and for spearheading Winnipeg's own installation.
