Elissa Campbell is a bookbinder who lives and works in Montpelier, Vermont. Her school lead her to pursue graduate studies in Art Therapy and along the way, she took a job at Paper Source, the paper store that all of us paper crafters love! Working at Paper Source had a big impact on Elissa and she ending up writing her graduate thesis on using bookbinding in the Expressive Therapies.
In 2000, Elissa founded Blue Roof Designs and now designs and creates one-of-a-kind handbound books. Her creations are sold on the Blue Roof Designs etsy site and are made with a variety of materials including handmade papers, brocade and leather.
I contacted Elissa to ask if I could share her Piano Hinge Book project and she said yes! It's a great project for anyone itching to do some summer crafting and uses regular paper and bamboo skewers. I'd also love to try using seed paper to create a book that is totally compostable.
The neon office paper looks great with this project and is available from Staples or other office supply stores.
Visit here for full instructions on how to make this piano hinge book project.
Thanks Elissa for letting me share your handiwork on Stationery Scoop!
